Fastest SMT laser marking system worldwide
WL 700 LCS of ROMMEL GmbH gets move on circuit boards
The fastest SMT laser marking system worldwide comes from Ehingen in Baden-Württemberg, Germany. The WL 700 LCS is a fully automatic inline solution for marking circuit boards of a maximum size of 460 x 460 mm (minimum 80 x 50 mm). The compact design of the machine with a place requirement of 1.4 m² guarantees optimum access and high safety at the same time based on a stable construction. Integrated in a complete SMT line, the WL 700 LCS can optionally be used in marking mode or throughput mode.
A CO2 laser – integrated in a solid, completely closed structure of steel sheet – applies freely programmable codes in a marking area of up to 300 x 450 mm. Based on a newly developed transport system, marking up to the border area or marking of the complete area of the circuit board is possible depending on adjustment. The codes are applied on the circuit boards by deflecting the laser beam and at the same time they are counterchecked by a camera system integrated in the course of the beam.
High-speed input and output stations as well as the possibility to simultaneously mark the boards from the top and from the bottom by the installation of a second laser give the WL 700 LCS maximum productivity. The machine reaches maximum accuracy and an enormous repeatability thanks to the integration of a fiducial measurement.
Machine operators are ideally supported by a clearly arranged and intuitively operable software concept. For an easy manual input of the board, an image of the circuit board is displayed. New marking programs and layouts can be created easily, quickly and in any quantity. A code generator makes the WL 700 LCS highly flexible. In addition, there is the possibility of an integration into an existing data network.
It is proven that the WL 700 LCS is the fastest system on the market. For example, the system is able to apply five DMC codes of a size of 3 x 3 mm each from the top and the bottom within 8 seconds or 48 DMC codes of the same size from one side in 24 seconds inclusive handling, fiducial measurement and assessment of every code.
