The scan station reads 1D or 2D codes in a production line. It can be positioned before any machine and provides the information read. The systems are equipped with a scanner by default and can optionally be connected to customer database system. The communication with other units takes place via RS232 by default. A connection to customer database is via TCP/IP. The scanners are adjusted automatically and move to the different reading positions by the programmable axis system. This ensures that every reading position can be approached in a defined way and that the assignment of the reading result for every individual PCB is clear. In addition, the PC offers the possibility to save any amount of reading programs and is prepared as platform for the Rommel host computer. (For a simplified creation of reading programs, there is the possibility to import the data from a Rommel marking station. To enhance the reading rate, there is the possibility to create product-specific reading parameters.
